Rilev Human Book Terms Of Service
Last updated: June 25, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Rilev Human Book store, website, assessment flow, digital report, printed book, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). The Service is operated by Rilev Inc. ("Rilev," "we," "us," or "our").
By visiting the store, placing an order, completing the assessment, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to use the Service. The Human Book is intended for adults only. We do not knowingly sell the Human Book to minors or collect assessment information from minors.
2. What The Human Book Is
The Human Book is a personalized self-understanding product generated from your assessment responses and related inputs. It may be delivered as a digital file, printed book, or both, depending on the product you purchase.
The Human Book is intended for reflection, self-insight, education, and personal development.
3. Not Medical Advice, Therapy, Or Diagnosis
The Service does not provide medical advice, psychological diagnosis, psychotherapy, counselling, crisis intervention, or treatment.
The Human Book is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, psychiatric, counselling, or emergency care. No doctor-patient, therapist-client, psychologist-client, fiduciary, or other regulated health professional relationship is created by your use of the Service.
Rilev does not diagnose, and will not diagnose, any medical, psychological, psychiatric, or mental health condition.
The assessment and generated report may use structured questionnaires, psychometric concepts, statistical interpretation, automated analysis, or AI-assisted generation. These outputs are informational only and are not clinical judgments.
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, mental health crisis, or thoughts of self-harm, contact emergency services or a local crisis line immediately. Rilev is not a crisis service and does not monitor your responses in real time.
If you are facing immediate danger or serious distress, seek help from local emergency services, local health authorities, a licensed professional, or a crisis support service in your area. Examples include:
- United States: call or text 988, or visit https://988lifeline.org
- Canada: call or text 988, or visit https://988.ca
- United Kingdom and Ireland: call Samaritans at 116 123, or visit https://www.samaritans.org
- Australia: call Lifeline at 13 11 14, or visit https://www.lifeline.org.au
- New Zealand: call 111 for immediate danger, call or text 1737 for support, or visit https://1737.org.nz
- Other countries: contact your local emergency number, local health authority, or use an international directory such as https://findahelpline.com
4. Your Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate checkout, contact, billing, and shipping information.
- Complete the assessment honestly and for yourself only.
- Keep your order email, assessment link, and access information secure.
- Use the Service only for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes.
- Not use the Service to assess another person without their informed consent.
- Not copy, resell, redistribute, scrape, reverse engineer, or misuse the Service.
- Not attempt to bypass security, fulfillment, payment, or assessment controls.
The quality and usefulness of the Human Book depends on the accuracy and honesty of your responses.
5. Orders, Assessment Access, And Fulfillment
After purchase, you may receive an assessment link or access flow connected to your order. You must complete the assessment before we can generate the final Human Book.
The Human Book fulfillment flow is designed to separate Shopify checkout identity from the Rilev assessment experience where practical:
- Shopify processes checkout identity, payment, order, and delivery details.
- Rilev uses an opaque fulfillment token to unlock the purchased Human Book assessment.
- The Rilev assessment app does not need your Shopify customer name, email, shipping address, or real Shopify order ID to administer the assessment.
- The fulfillment connector uses the encrypted token to connect completed print files back to the correct order for printing and shipping.
This separation reduces unnecessary linkage between delivery identity and assessment/report data. It does not make the physical Human Book fully anonymous, because printing and shipping a personalized book requires delivery identity and print-ready book files.
6. AI-Assisted And Automated Outputs
The Service may use automated processing or AI-assisted systems to generate narrative explanations, summaries, interpretations, or report sections.
You acknowledge that automated and AI-assisted outputs may contain errors, omissions, unexpected wording, or interpretations that do not fully match your lived experience. Outputs should be treated as reflective and informational, not as professional advice or clinical conclusions.
7. Payments, Pricing, Currency, And Taxes
Prices are shown at checkout and may be displayed in different currencies depending on Shopify settings, market, location, payment method, or exchange rates.
You are responsible for all amounts shown at checkout, including product price, shipping charges, taxes, and any other fees displayed before purchase.
Unless duties, import taxes, brokerage fees, or carrier handling fees are explicitly collected at checkout, international customers are responsible for any such charges assessed by the destination country, customs authority, carrier, or delivery provider.
We may update prices, product formats, discounts, shipping options, and availability at any time.
8. Shipping And Delivery
Physical Human Books are printed on demand after the assessment is completed and the final print files are generated.
Shipping rates are calculated live at checkout where available. If no shipping rate is available for your location, we may not be able to ship to that destination.
Delivery estimates are estimates only. Actual production and delivery times can vary due to assessment completion timing, print production, shipping provider delays, customs review, weather, strikes, address issues, or events outside our control.
You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address. We are not responsible for failed delivery, delay, loss, extra costs, or replacement costs caused by an incorrect, incomplete, undeliverable, or outdated address provided by you.
Risk of loss may pass to you when the product is handed to the carrier, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
9. Cancellations, Returns, Refunds, And Replacements
The Human Book is a personalized, made-to-order product. Because each book is generated from your assessment responses, orders cannot be cancelled, returned, or refunded once:
- You have submitted the assessment;
- Report generation has started;
- Digital files have been delivered;
- Print-ready files have been generated; or
- The order has entered print production.
If you need to cancel before completing the assessment, contact us as soon as possible at support@rilev.com. If production has not started, we may cancel and refund the order.
If your printed book arrives damaged, defective, misprinted, or materially different from the ordered format, contact us within 14 days of delivery with your order number and photos. After review, we may offer a replacement, reprint, refund, or other remedy at our discretion and as required by applicable law.
We do not provide refunds because you disagree with, dislike, or do not personally identify with a generated interpretation, unless required by applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights that apply in your jurisdiction.
10. Digital Products
If you purchase or receive a digital version of the Human Book, you receive a personal, non-transferable right to download and use it for your own private use.
You may not resell, publish, share publicly, distribute, sublicense, or commercially exploit the digital files or generated report content without our written permission.
11. Intellectual Property
Rilev owns the store design, product design, report structure, assessment flow, scoring logic, narrative frameworks, templates, software, algorithms, prompts, brand assets, copy, graphics, and other materials we create or provide, except for your personal inputs and any third-party materials.
You retain rights to personal information and self-authored content you provide, subject to the license below.
By using the Service, you grant Rilev a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process your responses and related information as needed to provide the Service, generate your Human Book, create digital and print-ready files, fulfill your order, provide support, improve the Service, and comply with law, consistent with our Privacy Policy.
You may use your completed Human Book for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not reverse engineer, copy, reproduce, resell, train competing systems from, or create derivative commercial products from the Service or Rilev materials.
12. Privacy
Your use of the Service is governed by our Privacy Policy. The Human Book Privacy Policy explains how the Shopify store, Rilev assessment flow, fulfillment connector, and Lulu print/shipping process handle information.
By using the Service, you acknowledge that your information may be processed by Shopify, payment providers, Rilev infrastructure providers, AI/report-generation providers, Lulu, shipping providers, and other service providers as needed to provide the product and fulfill your order.
13. Service Availability And Changes
We may modify, suspend, discontinue, or limit any part of the Service at any time, including products, formats, pricing, shipping options, countries served, assessment flow, report style, or third-party providers.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or permanent availability of the store, assessment flow, payment systems, live shipping rates, digital downloads, or fulfillment systems.
14. Prohibited Uses
You may not:
- Use the Service for unlawful, harmful, abusive, fraudulent, or misleading purposes.
- Use the Human Book as a medical diagnosis or substitute for professional care.
- Represent Rilev outputs as professional clinical conclusions.
- Complete the assessment on behalf of someone else without informed consent.
- Interfere with or disrupt the store, assessment, connector, payment, or fulfillment systems.
- Attempt to access data, systems, tokens, orders, or files that do not belong to you.
- Copy, scrape, reverse engineer, or reproduce Rilev systems, prompts, methods, or product design.
- Use automated systems or bots without permission.
15. Disclaimers
The Service and all products are provided "as is" and "as available" to the fullest extent permitted by law.
We disclaim warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, and suitability for any health, clinical, professional, employment, legal, or decision-making purpose.
We do not guarantee that the Human Book will identify every relevant pattern, avoid every error, match your self-perception, or be useful for every individual.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions. In those jurisdictions, exclusions apply only to the extent permitted by law.
16. Limitation Of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rilev and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, service providers, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, goodwill, emotional distress, business interruption, or reliance damages.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of:
- The amount you paid for the Human Book order giving rise to the claim; or
- USD $100.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
17. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Rilev, its officers, directors, employees, contractors, affiliates, and service providers from claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and expenses arising from:
- Your use or misuse of the Service;
- Your violation of these Terms;
- Your violation of law or third-party rights;
- Information you provide;
- Your reliance on the Human Book as medical, psychological, legal, employment, or professional advice;
- Your sharing, publishing, or misuse of Human Book content.
18. Governing Law And Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction require otherwise.
Before bringing a formal claim, you agree to contact us at legal@rilev.com so we can try to resolve the issue informally.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, disputes will be resolved in Delaware courts or through another dispute-resolution process we both agree to in writing. Mandatory consumer rights in your country, state, province, or region are not limited by this section.
19. Changes To These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date and provide additional notice where required by law.
Your continued use of the Service after updated Terms are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
